So, there are many different myths, facts, and tips on RAM. So today we will be discussing some of the myths about RAM. I hope you must have not known these myths earlier before. So, let’s get started with some of the interesting myths about RAM.
What is a RAM?
Random Access Memory (RAM) is a computer’s short-term memory. Anything on the computer is it Netflix, programs, files, folders would not work if you wouldn’t have RAM, which is your computer’s working space.
ROM : ROM (read only memory) is a flash memory chip that contains a small amount of non-volatile memory. Non-volatile means that its contents cannot be changed and it retains its memory after the computer is turned off.
RAM SIZE IS ALL THAT MATTERS
Ram size does not matter much. The size of a thing cannot explain its working. Even smaller-sized ram work better than bigrams. The frequency (speed) of the ram also matters.
CLEANING RAM = FASTER PHONE
You can find tons of apps on the play store like ram cleaner, memory booster, ram refresher, which clears the RAMS’s data. The fact is that they really clear the data out of your RAM. Then what? The phone has to again load all that data for its operation. Which makes it more slowly.
YOU CANT ADD RAM OF DIFFERENT SIZE, FREQUENCY, etc
It is said that you have to use the device with the same ram which was pre-installed. But this is not true. You must have heard that people do upgrade their rams. This is just to increase the working speed of the device. Hence you can also upgrade your RAM anytime and you will face no problem.
MORE RAM = FASTER PC
It is just the same as a mobile. The only ram is the not only thing as a deciding factor for a pc. There are many things like ROM motherboard, etc. A good processor is also required along with SSD hard drive which has a faster read / write speed
Now Here Are Some Of The Myths About Refresh Button
Many people still believe this myth that, refreshing the computer will make it work faster and smoother. They keep on refreshing 10-15 times.
But In Reality :
Refresh is actually used to update the changes made on the desktop. Many a times, we make changes but they don’t get applied, in such situation refresh is used. It is similar to the reload button in the browser. However, the feature is still available in windows 7, 8 & 10 because sometimes there are some glitches some changes may not update in your view even though the changes are applied. So, the refresh button simply updates icons to the recent changes.
